New Clients
We are always excited to meet new clients and their pets. In order to provide the best care to your pet and the smoothest transition from your previous vet, we would like documentation of any previous medical history, particularly vaccines, done elsewhere. We also require client forms to be filled out prior to, or at, the first appointment. Please either arrive 10 minutes before your scheduled appointment time, or print and fill out our New Client Form at home, and bring it with you.
Payment
Complete payment is due when services are rendered. We accept cash, checks, and major credit cards (Mastercard, VISA, Discover).
Surgery/hospital drop off
If your pet is scheduled for surgery or hospitalization, please bring him or her between 7:30 and 8:30 am. It is important that your pet not receive any food after 10 pm the night before, although water can be made available until the time of drop off. You will be asked to fill out some paperwork which will include verifying the procedure to be performed, as well as supplying a contact number where you can be reached. Surgeries are performed between 12 and 4pm. We will call you as soon as the procedure is completed.
Boarding Policy
Crossroads is happy to provide for your pets’ boarding needs. We can accommodate both dogs and cats, and great care is taken to ensure that your pet is comfortable and given individual attention. Dogs are walked three times daily (twice on Sundays). For their safety, they are taken outside on double leads and walked within a fenced area. Clean bedding and fresh water are given as needed. Feline boarders are housed separately from dogs in spacious cat condos. Bedding and clean litter pans are provided daily. We take great pride in the cleanliness of our boarding areas, and all occupied cages/runs/cat condos are cleaned and disinfected daily.
We will provide dry or canned food, unless you would like to bring your own. Due to the volume of laundry that is done for our boarders, we request that blankets or beds be left at home to avoid being misplaced or soiled. Pets may occasionally develop diarrhea due to the stress and excitement of boarding. With your permission, we will treat any resulting illnesses, but you will be charged for any exam, diagnostics, or treatment. If there are any procedures you would like to have done while your pet is boarding, please let us know at drop-off so that arrangements can be made. Boarding charges are based upon a per day basis regardless of drop-off or pick up time. Pets can only be dropped off or picked up during normal office hours.
Preventative Medications
All dogs need to be on monthly heartworm prevention year round. In order to dispense or authorize heartworm prevention, we need to ensure that your dog has tested heartworm negative through a simple blood test, and that there have been no missed doses since the last test.
Professional Courtesy
Please keep your dog on a leash and your cat in a carrier at all times. This is both for the safety of your pet and out of courtesy to our other clients. Cell phone use is prohibited at all times. |
